The information on this tab is for driver education students that attend Ascend Leadership Academy ONLYClass Instruction:
A. Students will attend ten days of classroom instruction of which 8 days will be face to face and 2 days virtual/remote learning. The virtual/remote days will be Fridays, unless otherwise announced. Lessons on the virtual/remote days will be through the use of Google Meet and Google Classroom. All students must have a gmail account or access to a gmail account to access the remote learning site/assignments. B. The virtual/remote lessons will consist of quizzes, videos, worksheets, and fill in the blank. All assignments must be completed and submitted for feedback. Classroom instruction and virtual instruction is designed to prepare students for the 100/200 question final assessment and the DMV test. C. During virtual/remote learning students are REQUIRED to have their cameras on unless there is a technical issue to prevent the use of a camera. Students' continuous presence is required during the virtual sessions. If students fail to be present during virtual session and are frequently away from their computer during the virtual session then it will be determined that the student is absent and will be scheduled to attend the makeup day. D. Students will be required to wear mask during class instruction with the following exceptions: 1. Students may take short breaks from wearing their mask when they are away from other students and not engaging in conversations. 2. During scheduled breaks when eating or drinking students may remove their mask. MATERIAL NEEDED FOR CLASSROOM INSTRUCTION: NC Driver Handbook (NC official and current copy) Students are not allow to use a digital copy in class; students must have a paper copy.
